Legal notice & terms of use
Please read this notice carefully. By accessing or using Verbaterm, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
1. Informational only — not legal advice
Verbaterm provides automated, plain-English summaries and source-backed observations about publicly available policy language and text you choose to paste. All content on this website — including reviews, findings, summaries, rankings, comparisons, scores, labels, and commentary — is for general informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing on Verbaterm is legal advice, a legal opinion, or a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Verbaterm and its operators are not your lawyers. No attorney-client relationship is formed by using this site, creating an account, pasting text, viewing a public policy page, or contacting us.
Laws, regulations, and contract interpretation vary by jurisdiction and facts. You should consult a qualified attorney before making decisions that could affect your legal rights, money, privacy, employment, or business.
2. No disparagement or defamation intended
Company names, product names, trademarks, and policy excerpts appear solely to identify the documents being summarized and to cite source text. Inclusion in the library, rankings, comparisons, or review results does not mean Verbaterm asserts that any company, product, service, or person is unlawful, unethical, deceptive, unsafe, or inferior.
Findings describe what cited policy language appears to say in plain English. They are not accusations, endorsements, or statements of fact about a company’s character, motives, or compliance with law. Any trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
3. Accuracy, completeness, and AI limitations
Policy documents change. Extraction, AI analysis, citation matching, and display can contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Verbaterm does not warrant that any summary, finding, score, or ranking is complete, current, correct, or suitable for any purpose.
Public policy pages include a source provenance block that identifies the official source URL Verbaterm retrieved, when that snapshot was retrieved, and (when available) when the source was last checked for changes. A “Verified official source” label or similar badge means Verbaterm treated the URL as an official public source for catalog purposes — not that the review is complete, current, or free of error. Provenance dates describe the snapshot and check history for that page; they are not a warranty that the live policy has not changed since retrieval, and a stale-change notice (when shown) only flags that Verbaterm may be reviewing an updated snapshot while an earlier review remains visible.
Private paste-text reviews do not carry official URL provenance. The pasted text is whatever you submitted; Verbaterm cannot verify that it matches a live official document.
You are solely responsible for verifying information against the original source documents and for any decisions you make.
4. Assumption of risk
You access and use Verbaterm entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verbaterm, its operators, owners, affiliates, contractors, and service providers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Verbaterm and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the site or any content on it — whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Verbaterm and its operators for any claim arising out of or relating to the site shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to Verbaterm in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (US $50).
6. Release and agreement not to pursue claims
By continuing to access or use Verbaterm after being presented with this notice (including by clicking “I understand & agree” on the site notice), you agree that — to the fullest extent permitted by law — you will not commence, pursue, join, or threaten any lawsuit, arbitration, regulatory complaint, or other legal proceeding against Verbaterm or its operators arising from or relating to:
- the content, summaries, findings, rankings, comparisons, or listings on the site;
- any alleged inaccuracy, omission, or outdated information;
- any alleged disparagement, defamation, trade libel, or similar claim based on how a company or product is described or listed;
- your reliance on any Verbaterm output when making personal, commercial, or legal decisions.
You further release and forever discharge Verbaterm and its operators from claims of that kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. If a court finds any part of this release unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect, and liability remains limited as stated above.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations or claim waivers. Where those rules apply, the limitations in this notice apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing here waives rights that cannot legally be waived (including certain consumer rights).
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verbaterm and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your publication or redistribution of site content in a way that causes harm to a third party.
8. Reports from companies and legal representatives
If you are counsel, a legal representative, or otherwise authorized to act for a company whose policy, product, or brand appears in a Verbaterm review, you may report a concern about that review.
How to report. Open the public review page for the policy in question and use the Report an issue form at the bottom of the page. In your report, please include:
- your contact information (so we can follow up if needed);
- a short description of the issue (for example: incorrect citation, outdated policy text, wrong company or product match, or a factual error in a finding); and
- the URL of the review page, if it is not already clear from the form submission.
Verbaterm will use best efforts to review the claim. If our team verifies a mistake, we will remove or update the affected review content as appropriate. Submitting a report does not create a guarantee of removal, a timeline commitment, an attorney-client relationship, or any waiver of the limitations and releases in this notice.
9. Public policy review requests
Visitors may request that Verbaterm review an official public policy URL or company website via the library contribution form. Submissions are quarantined: Verbaterm may perform automated safety checks (including limited HTTPS fetches of the submitted URL) and manual admin review before any catalog or published page is created. User interest is never evidence that a source is official.
Signed-in submissions may be associated with your account. Anonymous submissions are rate-limited using privacy-preserving identifiers (hashed network signals), not stored raw IP addresses for this feature alone. Dismissed or blocked submissions may be purged after about 90 days; aggregated demand counters may be retained.
Submitting a request does not guarantee review, publication, a timeline, or any particular outcome. Abuse, spam, unsafe URLs, and non-official sources may be blocked or dismissed.
10. Acceptance and updates
Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of this notice. Verbaterm may update this notice from time to time. Material updates may require renewed acknowledgment (notice version 3). The version shown on this page is the current binding text for site use.
If you do not agree, do not use Verbaterm. Use the “Leave site” control on the notice banner, or navigate away.
