Terms of Service
These terms of service govern access to and use of Verbaterm. They work together with the site-wide legal notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Last updated: July 12, 2026
1. Agreement
By accessing or using Verbaterm, you agree to these terms and to the legal notice & terms of use. The legal notice covers informational-only positioning, assumption of risk, liability limits, release language, indemnification, and company reporting channels. These terms add product-specific rules for accounts, reviews, billing, and acceptable use.
Verbaterm is operated by Verbaterm and its operators. Nothing on the site creates an attorney-client relationship or provides legal advice.
2. The service
Verbaterm provides automated, plain-English reviews of policy language with source-backed citations, plus a curated public policy library. Features may include private paste-text review, saved history, usage limits, one-time review credits, subscription capacity, rankings, comparisons, and related tools.
Output can contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. You are responsible for verifying results against original source documents and for any decisions you make.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account authenticated through Clerk. You are responsible for the accuracy of account information and for activity under your account. Keep credentials and session access secure. We may suspend or terminate access that appears abusive, fraudulent, or unsafe.
4. Private reviews
Private pasted text is private by default and is not published to the public library. You represent that you have the right to paste the text you submit and that doing so does not violate another party’s rights or applicable law. Do not paste secrets you are not authorized to share with Verbaterm and its processors.
You can delete private review sessions and associated stored text, findings, citations, and feedback from account history when that feature is available.
5. Public library
Public pages show reviews of official public policy sources after admin review. Requesting a public review does not guarantee publication or a timeline. Rankings, scores, and comparisons are informational and are never sold as sponsored placements.
6. Plans, credits, and payments
Free accounts receive a limited monthly review allowance. Additional capacity may be available through one-time review credits or a paid plan. Prices, limits, and document-length ceilings shown on Plans control current offers unless a separate checkout confirmation states otherwise.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase. Unused subscription allowance does not roll over unless a future offer expressly says so. Review credits follow the rules disclosed at purchase.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service beyond ordinary product use.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, authentication, admin controls, or security measures.
- Submit malware, unlawful content, or material you are not authorized to process.
- Misrepresent Verbaterm output as legal advice, an official company statement, or a guaranteed outcome.
- Use the service to harass, defame, or unlawfully target individuals or companies.
8. Intellectual property
Verbaterm branding, product design, software, and original site content are owned by Verbaterm and its operators or licensors. Company names, trademarks, and policy excerpts shown in reviews remain the property of their respective owners and appear only to identify and cite source documents.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy. Cookie and similar storage practices are summarized in the cookie policy. Processor terms for customer personal data processing, when applicable, appear in the data processing agreement.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. The assumption of risk, warranty disclaimer, liability cap, release, and indemnification terms in the legal notice apply to your use of Verbaterm and are incorporated here.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these terms, change features, or suspend the service as the product evolves. Material updates will be reflected by the “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. You may stop using Verbaterm at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms or to protect the service and its users.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms should be directed to Verbaterm and its operators through the product’s existing support or report channels.
